Upright Exercise Bike
How to adjust
- Set the seat height so your leg is almost straight at the bottom of the pedal stroke, with a slight bend.
- Adjust the seat's fore/aft position if available, and the handlebar height.
- Set the resistance level via the console/dial.
How to use
- Set the seat height first, sit upright and grip the handlebars.
- Start pedaling at a light resistance to warm up.
- Increase resistance/cadence per your workout, keeping the torso stable and avoiding side-to-side rocking.
Safety notes
- Set the seat height correctly before starting so your knee doesn't lock out or overflex at the extremes of the pedal stroke.
- Chest pain, dizziness, unusual breathlessness or legs turning to jelly means dropping the resistance to its lowest level, spinning easy until the pedals stop, undoing the foot straps and only then putting a foot down and getting off; if the symptoms don't settle, see a doctor.
- Start pedaling at low resistance before increasing.
- If pedal straps/clips are present, secure them before standing up out of the saddle.
