Suspension Trainer (TRX)

How to adjust

  1. Adjust the strap length via the adjuster buckle (shorter for more difficulty leaning further/higher-angle moves, longer for less difficulty).
  2. Set the anchor point height depending on the exercise (mid-height for rows, overhead for presses/squats support).

How to use

  1. Set the strap length for your exercise, gripping the handles (or placing feet in the cradles for leg exercises).
  2. Lean your bodyweight away from or toward the anchor point to set your resistance angle.
  3. Perform the movement (row, press, squat) through a controlled range, keeping your core braced throughout since the straps are unstable by nature.
  4. At the end of the set — or the moment you run out of strength mid-set — walk your feet toward the anchor so the lean gets easier, come back up to nearly standing, get your balance, and only then let go of the handles; never release while your weight is still hanging back on the straps.

Safety notes

  • Confirm the anchor point is rated for bodyweight training and the straps are securely clipped or looped, then tug hard on both handles and run your eyes down the webbing for fraying before you lean your weight into them.
  • Keep your core braced to protect the lower back since the unstable straps require more stabilization than fixed equipment.
  • If your strength runs out, get back to standing before letting go: a strap or hook releasing while you are leaning back is how people land flat on their back.
  • Check both straps are set to equal length before two-handed exercises.
