T-Bar Row
How to adjust
- Choose the handle attachment (V-handle or wide handle) fitted near the pivot end of the bar.
- Load weight plates onto the post near the floor pivot and secure them with plate collars.
How to use
- Stand straddling the bar, hinge at the hips with a flat back before gripping the handle.
- Grip the handle, exhale, and pull it up to your torso, squeezing the shoulder blades together at the top.
- Inhale, lower under control without letting the plates touch the floor between reps if you want continuous tension.
- At the end of the set, extend your arms and lower the bar until the plates rest on the floor (or on the stops) before letting go of the handle, then stand up by extending your hips and step out from over the bar.
Safety notes
- Set your hip-hinge with a flat back before every pull; never round the lower back to complete a rep — reduce the weight instead.
- When a rep stops moving or your back starts to round, end the set right there: keep the back flat, ride the bar down to the floor with the hinge, let go of the handle and only then stand up — never jerk out a last rep while bent over.
- Secure the plates with collars so they don't slide during the row.
