Shoulder Press Machine
How to adjust
- Set the seat height so the handles are at shoulder level when sitting upright.
- Select the weight using the pin on the weight stack.
How to use
- Sit up tall, lower back and hips against the backrest, gripping the handles at shoulder height.
- Exhale, press the handles straight overhead until the arms are nearly straight, without locking the elbows hard.
- Inhale, lower the handles back to shoulder height under control.
Safety notes
- Keep the lower back and hips against the seat back throughout the press; don't hyperextend the spine.
- Do not lock the elbows out hard at the top.
- Control the descent; do not let the weight stack slam.
- If you run out of strength mid-set, stop where you are and ease the handles back down to shoulder height until the stack settles before letting go and standing up — nothing traps you under a bar here so you don't need a spotter, but let go mid-rep and the handles drop straight back at your shoulders.
