Lying Leg Curl Machine

How to adjust

  1. Lie on the bench and line your knee joint up just past the edge of the pad, in line with the lever arm's pivot; if the bench or pad slides, set it to that landmark first.
  2. Adjust the ankle roller pad position for your leg length so it rests just above your heels.
  3. Lower the hip restraint pad down onto the back of your thighs/hips to keep them pinned to the bench.
  4. Select the weight using the pin on the weight stack.

How to use

  1. Lie face down on the bench, hooking your heels under the ankle roller pad, gripping the handles at the front.
  2. Exhale, curl your heels up toward your glutes.
  3. Pause briefly, then inhale and lower back under control.
  4. At the end of the set, lower slowly until the stack settles all the way down, release the hip restraint pad, then slide your legs out from under the ankle roller and get off the bench.

Safety notes

  • Lower the hip restraint pad snugly before starting — this is what stops the hips from lifting, which would otherwise strain the lower back.
  • If you run out of strength mid-set, don't hold the weight halfway or kick to force another rep: let your heels extend back with the weight, wait until the stack settles fully, then slide your legs out from under the roller.
  • Do not use momentum to yank the weight up.
  • Control the negative on the way down.
