Hip Abductor Machine
How to adjust
- Set the starting range of the knee pads to a comfortable inward position for your hips.
- Select the weight using the pin on the weight stack.
How to use
- Sit with your back against the pad, outer thighs/knees against the two pads.
- Exhale, push the legs apart against the resistance.
- Pause briefly, inhale, and bring the legs back together under control.
Safety notes
- Set the starting range to a comfortable width for your hips before adding heavy weight, to avoid overstretching the groin/hip.
- Do not jerk the legs open with momentum.
- Control the return.
- If you run out of strength or feel a pinch in the hip/groin, let the legs come back together with the load until the stack settles before you let go, take your legs off the pads and get out of the machine — letting go mid-range snaps the pads shut on your legs.
