Chest Press Machine
How to adjust
- Set the seat height so the handles align with mid-chest when sitting upright.
- Select the weight using the pin on the weight stack.
How to use
- Sit with your back and hips flat against the backrest, gripping the handles at chest level.
- Exhale, press the handles forward until the arms are nearly straight, without locking the elbows out hard.
- Inhale, bring the handles back under control until you feel a slight stretch in the chest.
Safety notes
- Keep your back and hips flat against the pads through the whole set so the lower back doesn't arch under a heavier load.
- Don't slam the elbows into a hard lockout at the end of the press.
- Control the handles on the way back; don't let the weight stack slam.
- If you stall mid-rep, simply let the handles travel back with the weight and keep your hands on them until the stack settles — nothing can pin you on this machine so you don't need a spotter, but letting go mid-rep lets the handles swing back into your chest.
