Intermediate Groin Stretch
intermediate · stretch

Setup
Lie on your back on a mat with both legs straight. Loop a strap or resistance band around one foot.
Execution
- Raise the leg with the strap straight up, keeping the knee extended.
- Keep the other leg pressed to the floor to anchor the hips, without letting them lift.
- Use your hands to gently pull the strap, guiding the raised leg out to the side, toward the floor on that side.
- Pull to a moderate stretch in the groin and inner thigh, holding for 15-20 seconds.
- Bring the leg back to center under control, lower it to the floor, then switch sides.
Breathing
Breathe slowly and evenly while holding; exhaling helps the groin open a little further.
Quick cues
- Bottom leg pressed to the floor.
- Raised knee stays straight.
- Pull to tight, not to pain.
- Return to center under control.
Common faults
Fault: The hips lifting off the floor as the leg pulls sideways
Fix: Press the bottom leg and the opposite hip into the floor before pulling the strap.
Fault: The raised knee bending during the pull
Fix: Actively lock the knee straight before starting to guide the leg sideways.
Fault: Yanking the strap too hard and suddenly
Fix: Pull slowly and stop as soon as you feel a moderate stretch.
