Calories in popular Vietnamese dishes
Estimate pho, noodle bowls and cơm tấm by their ingredients and portions.

No single number fits a dish name
Two bowls of pho may use different amounts of noodles, meat, broth and oil. A bún bowl with a spring roll or extra peanuts differs from one without them. Cơm tấm may add pork, egg and sides around very different rice portions. One universal calorie figure would imply precision the recipe cannot support.
Look at the main components: starch, protein, oils, toppings and accompanying drinks.
A practical way to log
If possible, weigh the edible rice or noodles and meat. Otherwise choose the closest serving in a database and note whether the restaurant portion was small or large. USDA FoodData Central provides ingredient and portion-weight data, though a local recipe may differ.
Estimate in a consistent way across weeks to see trends. Do not compensate for uncertainty in one meal by skipping food or overexercising.
